Malaysian musician and performance artist Lau Mun Leng?s CDR, ?Antiseptic,? a three track keyboard based electronic release, is both too short, and too undeveloped to really garner more than a passing interest. There?s nothing of substance to grab and hold your attention.
What you really get here is one thirty-four minute track sandwiched between two pieces no longer than two minutes. As it is, the main track is basically just one long, high pitched squeal. The opening track is over before it starts, and the last track is basically electronically generated tones that sound underwater.
And that is that.
Buy a tone generator, pay for about forty minutes of recording time at a studio, and boom, you?re an artist. I know I?m being callous, but this is a waste of time. Expanded into a full-length release with some sort of depth, you might have something here, but not with the little you get to chew on. Forgettable. 2/10 -- John Cramer (28 August, 2006)
