Chora "Moist Friends"

Chora create massive slabs of psychedelic chaos employing a whole plethora of instrumentation and sound manipulation, taking the listener on an amazing and at points frightening kaleidoscopic journey. Beginning with a massive, chaotic stew of sound Chora allow their music to develop from an almost out of control cacophony to subtle drones and loops that shift from light to dark. In fact its amazing how many places are visited within each composition, as the transitions are so subtly dealt with that one does not even notice how far one has traveled from the beginning to the end of the longer works.

The only issue that I really take with this recording is that each track ends abruptly. I would really like to hear the tracks morph into one another or simply dissipate before beginning the next as this is a jarring and discomforting manner in which to end a fantastic head-trip. 8/10 -- Cory Card (1 May, 2007)
