Former Meatjack guitarist Brian Daniloski limits himself to two tracks on this 3-inch, which gives him enough time to spread a whole lot of fear, but doesn?t leave enough time to get beyond mere assault. It would have been nice to have more of a taste.
The doomy drone of "Periphery,? however layered, seems a short piece of something larger. Even at eight minutes, it feels like a tune-up to a more ominous missive. ?Eyes in Eyes? is a bit more weighty, as the repetitive drone builds to a burst of noise and spoken word invective. It is reassuring that he cuts loose, as both tracks hint at menace and raw emotion; neither really brings it home though, which is a downer, since Daniloski has mighty chops and dark ideas, and they are not really hammered home here. 6/10 --
