6majik9 appear to have a penchant for the space that can exist somewhere between music and noise. ?Rubber God Head? lives somewhere on this scale, careening (thankfully) towards psychedelic, and away from the complete atonal madness of an industrial landscape; it?s not machines I hear, but drums, guitars, Theremin, voice, flute, and assorted electronics. ?Rubber God Head? has a method, a discernable thesis which drives it forward through a meandering 38 minutes and 38 seconds, a thesis that?s not lost, a purpose easily recognizable and appreciated. Namely, this CDR gives you room to think, room to get lost in thought, room to drift away. What snaps you back is the occasional sound that sparks interest, a cymbal hit, a high pitched yelp, or a flute searching for augmentation through other instruments. It?s assuring really, to know that for nearly 39 minutes you have an escape from the wearisome constancy of routine. There?s so much happening on ?Rubber God Head? that it?s easy to drift away to a place where a paradox miraculously makes sense. 8/10 --
