Hovering in the tradition of AMM, Taj Mahal Travelers and the like, Lebellula traverse similar territories, and while not altogether iconoclastic by any stretch, they’re equally evocative and mind-blowing. Bits of bowed objects conjure foggy folk explorations and mere hints of melodies, whilst metal scrapes are reminiscent of Organum. Who’s at the helm? We’re told it is Sebastian Clinger, Hitoshi Kojo and Michael Hortham, but these fellers could have been around forever; and from anywhere. This is non-idiomatic in the classical sense of the term.
The music is dynamic, and it moves well incorporating both the monolithic drones of the Travelers and the verifiable experimental aspects of AMM, embracing both the anomalous beauty and glass-breaking intensity of both. 9/10 --
