“Procession” is a single 21-minute harsh static blast that moves with sloth-like velocity. The enigmatic entity(ies) behind the Willful moniker (Myspace says he/she/they is/are from Minneapolis) have made it his/her/their mission to describe a nuclear winter using pure sound. As the track progresses, the tone changes from fairly mundane ice-crystals-on-brain-stem white noise to a menacing boulders-careening-downhill bass rumble. At the final moments of the track, all of the layers of sound are peeled away leaving a lonely siren beckoning the dead to rise. As an added bonus, the eight-page mini-booklet is eye-pleasing with its bleak, monochrome images. All-in-all, “Procession” is a tight little package sure to satisfy those looking for a meaty slab of death-drone. 6/10 --
