Dylan Ettinger "Super Ape" tape

Where HASN'T Bigfoot been sighted? The giant man-ape, which also answers to Yeti, Sasquatch, Skunk-Ape, Harry, and Stacy, if you believe the pamphlet accompanying the album, is now the subject of a Dylan Ettinger tape. Some people want photo proof but he's apparently concerned with audio proof in his latest release, part of a two tape complementary series out on El Tule.

A good environment album, one the certainly puts you in the woods. Way, way in the woods. There may or may not be leaves on the trees at this point, there's no light to tell, and the moon ain't nothin' but a sliver. The beast is in no hurry to get to you. He lets the forest have its fun. Somehow, these recordings play tricks on the eyes. Locked in a constant stumble that can never quite break into a run, the air gradually gets a little more frantic. Shapes can start to be made out. He smiles at you, but your expression is frozen.

Worth noting every bit as much as the music is the packaging for this album. Besides the iconic photo of Bigfoot gracing the cover, buyers will also receive an excellent pamphlet containing a wealth of information about the elusive Sasquatch. Very well written and extremely funny, it's worth picking up a copy just to see it. 7/10 -- Chad Parsons (24 February, 2010)
