Fans of The Real Psych should definitely make themselves aware of Up-Tight?s ?Five Psychedelic Pieces.? These extended tracks?three in studio, two live?perfectly embody all that is holy and good about primitive, throbbing acid soaked repetition. The trio sets things on fire most of the way, but is just as capable when it comes to the sad bits of aural melancholy that make bands like White Heaven and LSD-March such resilient rock beasts. And if all that doesn?t tickle your fancy, how does the title ?Sweet Sister Session? sound? Like 16 mins of badass rumbling bass and flailing acid guitar enshrouding a slow Velvets groove that eventually blows up into a brutal hailstorm of blasted skronk. Undoubtedly a masterpiece for those who can dig on an innate ability to combine sheer rock fury with a constantly evolving dream space. 8/10 --
